Patterns is a three-day retreat for 50 engineering, product, and design leaders who want to connect with and be inspired by peers and experts. Share challenges, develop relationships, and learn from the people whose work you admire in a shared safe space. Attendees will go home with the know-how to affect change and lead their teams towards achieving what used to feel impossible.
What is Patterns?
Patterns is a retreat at the gorgeous Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe focused on leadership-level topics related to design systems. We're getting out of our day-to-day rhythms and journeying to a one-of-a-kind venue for an immersive three-day experience.
is patterns for you?

Attendees will be selected from a pool of applicants to create a community of peers from multiple industries and organizations. What to expect

The experience
Patterns is designed to be a retreat, not a conference. Our intention is to create a safe space that's conducive to honest discussion and learning from our peers.
Expert insights
Patterns attendees are all experts in their field. You can expect to learn from and be inspired by EPD leaders with many years of leadership expertise.
Authentic connections
Get to know other engineering, product, and design leaders. Create connections and community that will thrive well beyond your time at Patterns.
Experiences to renew and refocus
See Santa Fe like you never have before. This immersive retreat includes activities ranging from relaxing to thrilling for you to enjoy with your fellow leaders.
Moderated workshops and discussions
Share challenges and co-create solutions with peers in workshops and discussions guided by thought leaders and seasoned experts.
It's not just about component libraries and design tooling. Those are the building blocks, but design systems succeed when they embed new ways of working in an organization, and pay off when they demonstrate clear returns on investment.
Robin CaNnon
Global Director of Design Systems, IBM iX
You’ll be one of the first groups to experience Santa Fe’s newest five-star luxury resort and the jewel of the Auberge Resorts Collection. Bishop's Lodge is situated on 317 secluded acres bordering Santa Fe National Forest and just minutes from downtown Santa Fe.
